Merry Christmas from Egypt! The trip here was long but uneventful. My mom was kind enough to drive me to the airport early Tuesday morning where I checked in for my shuttle to JFK. We grabbed some breakfast and said goodbye. I meandered over to my gate and watched episodes of Bones on my iPod until we boarded and then I slept the whole way to JFK. Packing and Boston Logan Airport Today is the day my mom and I are leaving for Scotland for a nineteen day vacation! I took today off of work and I spent it running around like mad! I dislocated my elbow on August 1st in an ATV accident so this will be an interesting trip. I am just out of the Bledsoe brace that I had to wear 24/7 and now my arm is weak and sore and I have to be careful not to lift anything heavy. So I left work around 1:30 on Friday--my birthday--and Rob and I headed out to the Monterey Airport for the maiden voyage of an airlines new flight from there directly to Vegas. There had been all sorts of promotions on the radio and in the paper on this launch since they were offering the first flights at 49 bucks each way. Rob and I looked into it and decided that it was about time we had a quick weekend trip to Vegas again. When we lived in AZ it was only a five hour drive so we did it quite often. We flew to the Caucasus and back with airBaltic which seems to cover Eastern Europe pretty from its hub in Riga. The prices, service and hub airport were all fine, but the time their flights were scheduled were a little challenging. Our flight to Baku arrived at 5.45 am and our flight from Yerevan left at 04.30 am.
